Chief Executive Officer
Fred Ashford leads Tree Care Partners and supports the leaders of each of our regional partner businesses. Prior to joining Tree Care Partners, Fred was a Regional Vice President at Rentokil, one of the largest pest control businesses in the world. At Rentokil, he was responsible for leading and directing a team of over a thousand throughout western North America. Prior to Rentokil, Fred built other field-based service businesses organically and through acquisition in the uniform services and waste management services industries.
Fred is credited with managing the successful integration of roughly $100M in acquisitions and growing his region organically by 8% annually in a mature industry. Fred brings extensive leadership experience to Tree Care Partners with a proven track record of implementing successful growth strategies.

Evan joined Tree Care Partners in July 2022 and serves as the Company CFO. Evan’s responsibilities include overseeing Accounting, Finance, and HR, while serving as head of the Company’s Marketing and IT.
Prior to his CFO role with Tree Care Partners, Evan served as an interim CFO for MAS Medical Staffing in 2022 and served as CFO for My Alarm Center, an Oaktree Capital portfolio company, from 2019 through 2021. My Alarm Center was the 11th largest security company in the US prior to its merger with Alert360 in December 2021. Prior to its merger, Evan also led My Alarm Center through a corporate debt
restructuring and served as its head of Finance, Accounting, IT Development, and Marketing.
Prior to his time as a Chief Financial Officer, Evan was the Vice President of Corporate Finance & Strategic Planning at Connect America, a portfolio company of Rockbridge Growth Equity and Onex Falcon for 4 years. He served as Head of Finance, Accounting, and Analytics (a team he created) in his tenure.
Evan began his career as a Strategy and Transformation Consultant at IBM and, shortly thereafter, at ShopRunner, where he led diligence for a $200MM equity investment from Alibaba Group. Evan graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2010 with a major in Finance and a minor in Business Law.

Darren has a proven track record of optimizing operational efficiency, nurturing a culture of innovation, and consistently delivering outstanding results. His unwavering dedication to safety, sustainability, and exceeding customer expectations seamlessly aligns with Tree Care Partners’ core values and overarching vision.
Most recently, Darren served as the Senior Vice President for Sales, Marketing, and Operations at Alert 360, the nation’s fifth-largest residential and commercial security company. In this pivotal role, Darren played a key role in harmonizing various workstreams, refining organizational processes, cultivating a unified culture, and empowering the company’s talented workforce. His leadership greatly contributed to Alert 360’s continued success and growth.
Prior to his tenure at Alert 360, Darren accumulated nearly nine years of experience at Comcast/NBC-Universal, where he demonstrated his exceptional leadership abilities across diverse geographies and various functional areas. Darren managed workgroups ranging from 250 to over 1,300 employees, overseeing markets ranging from 1.2 million to over 4 million customers. His multifaceted experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to drive positive change at every level.
Furthermore, Darren holds several certifications in organizational leadership, including being a Certified Change Agent, along with a Leadership Coaching Certification through Prosci. His commitment to continuous learning and professional development underscores his dedication to excellence.
Additionally, Darren has been recognized for his industry expertise by serving on the advisory board for the University of Minnesota’s Center for Sales and Leadership, a testament to his commitment to shaping the future of leadership in our field.

Jess joined Tree Care Partners in 2022 as Vice President of Accounting and is responsible for all accounting, accounts payable, receivables, cost optimization, and audit compliance for the Company’s branches and corporate operations. Prior to leading Accounting Operations at Tree Care Partners, Jess worked at Rentokil as a Director of Finance Operations where she gained extensive Project management and M&A knowledge over a 5-year tenure.
Jess started her career in the non-profit sector as a staff accountant and progressing into an Accounting Manager where she participated in taking the company into the for-profit sector. From there, she moved onto Penske where she gained her Six Sigma certification. During her tenure at Penske, she worked with the Genpact Hyderabad team to enhance the efficiency of the back-office operations.
Jess earned a dual bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management as well as her MBA from Alvernia University.

Debbie is an experienced HR professional who leads all aspects of Tree Care Partner’s People Operations, including Development, Training, Payroll, Benefits, and Recruiting. Debbie started her career in HR at Trump Entertainment Resorts, where she was a Talent, Training, and Development Manager for over 5 years.
Following this, Debbie worked for Atlantic City Linen Supply/ Purestar LLC, a premier private equity-backed hospitality laundry partner, as the Senior Director of Human Resources – Continental US for over 7 years. During her work with Atlantic City Linen Supply/Purestar LLC, Debbie gained incredible knowledge, process/project development, and experience with mergers and acquisitions.

Andy founded Tree Tech in 1986, and through over 35 years of hard work and dedication, has led the company to become one of the most respected and well-known tree care businesses in New England.
With a team of 80 staff, nearly half of whom have been with the company for over 10 years, Andy has built a rare culture at Tree Tech. Under Andy’s guidance, Tree Tech now serves residential, commercial, education, municipal, and utility clients across New England.
Andy has accrued many accolades over his career, including the designation of Massachusetts certified arborist, ISA certified arborist, Massachusetts Licensed Pesticide Applicator, and ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ). Prior to founding Tree Tech, Andy began his career with Bartlett Tree Experts and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry.
